And May I Say How Much I Enjoyed...

... this last telly series of "Foyle's War".
Now that we've tipped the plot into the coldwar era, shady dealings abound and there are some tricky blighters about.

Wonderful production stuff, costumes, sets, etc. I do think that it's hard not to taint "period" style with current fashion but they did manage the period jolly well. Don't often watch retro crime but have always had a soft spot for "Foyle's War" and so I really do hope we have some more.

Jolly good show, I say.

Mrs D Ponders Crime & Espionage: Chris Morgan Jones "The Jackal's Share"

Mrs D reckons that Chris Morgan Jones is a writer to follow. She have just read and greatly enjoyed his second book featuring corporate spy Ben Webster. This time his investigation takes him to Italy, Dubai and North Africa and the water temperature gets decidedly hot as he finds himself more isolated in his distrust of his client.

Mrs D Ponders Crime And Espionage: Stuart Neville's "Ratlines"

Mrs D be gratified to find that Stuart Neville can switch period, place, and character with his latest book "Ratlines".... a factional thriller set in Ireland in 1963 where the murders of ex-Nazis and their fellow-travellers being investigated by Lietenant Albert Ryan of Military Intelligence.

Mrs D Ponders Espionage: Dan Fesperman's "The Double Game"

Mrs D be reading again....
and this time it is a spy thriller set in the US and Europe and....
is itself a history of spy literature.

She do enjoy it and recommends it and thinks maybe she should read more Dan Fesperman.
